From 24 November to 5 December, the Silk Road Samarkand tourism complex will host the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parties to CITES — the international convention regulating trade in endangered wild animals and plants.

Hosting CoP20 in Samarkand is a historic milestone for the city and the entire region. Silk Road Samarkand serves as the core venue, bringing together global leaders, environmental experts, and international organizations.

Today, Silk Road Samarkand is recognized not only as the largest tourism cluster in Central Asia but also as an emerging global platform for discussions on sustainable development. The complex offers all necessary infrastructure to host events of this scale, including hotels, a congress center, logistics facilities, and comprehensive safety standards.

During CITES CoP20, delegates from more than 180 countries will gather to discuss key global decisions on biodiversity conservation and the regulation of international trade in endangered species.
